The Courage to Begin Again

If you feel inspired by reading Curvy CEO's blog and don't have the appropriate workout attire, check out Juno Active's Activewear selection.

It was the Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu who said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

That sounds fine and dandy, but what about the journey that seems to begin again. . . and again. . . repeating the exact same steps, yet never reaching the destination?

I don't know about Lao-tzu, but Einstein would call that insanity.

So, if you have this repeated pattern - of mustering up the will to try, of shyly venturing out to the gym or the park in your sweats and sneaks, of declaring that THIS will be the time you succeed, only to find yourself back on the couch with a bowl of ice cream mere days later - where, then, do you find the courage to begin your fitness journey again?

It's in that still, small voice within that says, "I want to feel better."

It's when you seek out the support you need - whether online or in person - to help you push through those tough days when you feel like giving up.

It's when you let go of whatever is holding you back - whether it be fear, finances, or fatigue - and decide that you're worth those few minutes it takes to go for a walk or try a new exercise class.

It's when you realize that, when it comes to your health, there is no final destination. No matter where you start, there is always going to be a goal to reach for - a new time to beat, a heavier weight to lift, a longer route to take.

And that's the beauty of it all - you will never stop reaching and growing.

It took me a while, but finally believe that I am worth the journey. Let us begin again.
