Lessons from Santa

Most everyone is familiar with the iconic image of Santa Claus. The jolly old elf is well known for delivering toys to good little girls and boys all over the world. The lesson for kids is pretty clear, behave and Santa will bring you presents. But what about adults? Is there any lesson that adults can learn from watching Santa?

Lessons from Santa:

  1. Don’t freak out about a couple of cookies on special occasions. There is no need to feel bad about a little indulgence around the holidays. Just don’t let everyday become a “special occasion.”
  2. Getting outside in the cold can be very enjoyable if you are dressed properly! A snug base layer, warm outer layer, and good wool socks keep Santa warm in sub zero skies. Dressing for the cold can keep you warm so you can focus on having fun not your chattering teeth.
  3. Laugh often! A grumpy Santa would not be loved by millions of kids. A typical day is filled with small events that can be frustrating and ultimately lead to a bad day. Laughing at these events instead lets you continue your day in a positive manner!
  4. Surround yourself with friendly and supportive people. Santa could not do his job alone, look at his support staff! He has a small army of elves not to mention Mrs. Claus. You have friends and family. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and to delegate tasks!
  5.  It is better to give than to receive. I don’t know about you, but I have never gotten a letter from Santa stating what he wants for Christmas.
  6.  You are never too old to believe in a little bit of magic!
