National "No Fry Day"

Believe it or not but today is national "No Fry Day"
At Junonia, we talk a lot about fabrics that offer UPF protection. You see it mentioned in QuikWik, QuikWik Lite, AquaSport Swimwear, QuikEnergy Swimwear, and our UV protective jackets. But what exactly is UPF?
UPF is short for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, think of it as SPF for clothing. Just like with sun block, the higher the number the more protection it gives you. Several factors play into whether or not a fabric will block radiation of the sun such as the density of the fabric weave, dye type and color, and the fiber type itself. Most importantly, the fabric must be tested to determine the UPF rating. Wikipedia has more great info.
With Summer nearly in full swing, it’s important to protect yourself from UV rays and Junonia wants to make certain that you have the right clothing, no matter your activity. Check out our collections and enjoy the sun!
